W.D. Kilpack III

W.D. Kilpack III, MPC, PSMC, is the award?winning author of the New Blood Saga, known for emotionally intense, mythic fantasy and military sci?fi. His work has earned 53 international awards, including Book of the Year, Best World?Building, and multiple gold medals for fantasy and adventure.

His fiction is recognized for vivid world?building, deep character psychology, and the collision of fate, loyalty, and sacrifice. Reviewers have praised his work as “epic in scope,” “beautifully written,” and “a masterclass in immersive storytelling.”

Kilpack is a former college professor, writing coach, world-ranked athlete, and editor with a background in journalism, philosophy and communication. His experience includes screenwriting, film production, and professional media work, contributing to the cinematic quality of his narratives.

He is a member of multiple writing organizations and has served as a judge for national and international competitions. His books have been featured in podcasts, interviews, and literary showcases across the U.S. and abroad.

When he isn’t writing, Kilpack enjoys freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling, coaching, and spending time with his family in Utah. He continues to expand the New Blood Saga and other projects rooted in myth, destiny, and the human cost of heroism.

He holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Westminster University, where he double-majored in communication and philosophy and completed the Honors Program. He later earned a Master of Professional Communication with a writing emphasis. As a high-performing athlete, he qualified to represent the USA in Greco-Roman wrestling. He is happily married to his high-school sweetheart.
